    • Book 345. Page 511. Memorial 234750. Mary Atkin (now a widow) in a Deedof Assignment dated 17 January, 1783 gave to her second son Simon Atkinof Redbarn, Co. Cork some lands of the Ledondon estate. ( refers toSimon ATKIN brother of Walter ATKIN bc 1754 who lived at Atkinville.)

      A Memorial of an indenture of Assignment bearing the date 14th day ofJanuary 1783 whereby after reciting as therein is Recited Mary Atkin ofClonpriest in the co. of Cork widow, did grant, sell & consign unto SimonAtkin of Redbarns in the said County Gent, second son of Mary Atkin, allthat & those the respective lands of Four Closes of Clomard & the Landsof Coolerenagh respectively situated in the Signiory of Inchquin & the Coof Cork & also the said Mary Atkin's stock of cattle, corn farmingutensils, instruments of husbandry, household furniture, except herclock, bed & clothes & other such part of household furniture as sheshall think proper, to hold the said respective Lands therein beforementioned unto the said Simon Atkin his Excors, Adors,& Assigns, fromthence forth for & during the natural lives & life of all & every suchperson & persons & the survivors of survivor of them for whose life theRespective Leases of said Lands & premises were respectively made &subject to the rents & ……..in said Leases mentioned & subject to also toone Annuity of: Sixty Pounds payable out of the said respective Lands &Premises to the said Mary ATKIN during her life to hold the said MaryAtkin"s said stock of cattle, corn farming utensils, instruments ofHusbandry, household furniture, except as before excepted unto the saidSimon Atkin his bearers, admons, & assigns, to his & their use fromthence forever in which said Indenture is Contained and Covenant in thepart of the said Simon Atkin his Excors, Admons, assigns for the paymentof the said Annuity to the said Mary Atkin Witnesses the execution ofsaid Indenture of Assignment this Memorial are William Willy of the CityCork ironmonger,& Thomas Pope, Clerk to Thomas Chatterton of the saidCity,Notary Public, Simon Atkin (his seal). Present of executing theabove Memorial William Willy, Thomas Pope, the above mentioned ThomasPope maketh an oath that he saw the indenture where of the above Memorialduly executed by, the above named Mary Atkin & Simon Atkin, that he alsosaw the said Simon Atkin sign & seal the above Memorial & that thisDeponant is at suscribing witness to the said Deed & Memorial. ThomasPope sworn before me at the of City of Cork the 14th day of January 1783by virtue of a commission forth of his Majestic Court of Exchequor in …hand to me directed the taking of this Affidavit & I know the DeponantThomas Chatterton Justice, present.
