- Annie Bell ATKIN was born about 1854 in Brooklyn, New York, in theUnited States of America after Walter and Margaret Hill ATKIN and theirextended family had arrived there around 1852 to 53.
The ATKIN family then travelled westwards to Illinois, where severalof the family settled. After the birth of Elizabeth ATKIN about 1857 inIllinois, Walter, Margaret Hill ATKIN and their children accompanied thegrandmother Arabella ATKIN back to England. Here Walter and Margaret HillATKIN stayed in London for a while.
In London in 1858 Walter and Margaret had another daughter VictoriaRossetta Barbra ATKIN. At the end of this year the ATKIN family packed upthe rest of their belongings and the children yet again, boarded theship 'Lincolnshire' at Gravesend and sailed for Melbourne, Victoria,Australia.
By this time Annie Bell ATKIN was four years old. The ATKIN familylived in Melbourne at various addresses, where three more daughters wereborn. Just how Annie Bell ATKIN was educated is not known, but shecertainly knew how to read and write.
Sometime before the end of 1870 Annie Bell ATKIN met her futurehusband Marius Alexander LALCHE'RE a Frenchman, who worked as a carrierin Sydney.
At St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Timms Hill, Sydney, Annie BellATKIN was married to Marius Alexander LALCHE'RE on the 3rd of January1871. Annie Bell was just eighteen years of age and her husbandtwenty-seven years.
In late 1871 Annie Bell LALCHE'RE gave birth to their first child, ason named Walter J. LALCHE'RE.
1. Walter J. LACHE'RE married Marie in 1895. Their first child a sonMarius W. L. was born in 1896 and died the same year. A secondson Leon was born in 1902.
2.Marius Morrison LALCHE'RE born in 1873 was the second child ofMarius Alexander and Annie Bell LALCHE'RE. In 1898 he marriedAgnes McFREEMAN.
3. Gordon William LALCHE'RE born in 1875 married Martha A. GEE.They had children of whom one is named Cyril born in 1904.
4. Leonie M. LALCHE'RE born in 1878.
5. Theodora May LALCHE'RE born in 1880.
6. Vivian T. LALCHE'RE born in 1883 married Rose. They lived inSurfer's Paradise and had no children.
7. Henry Thompson LALCHE'RE born in 1885, he married Doris M.AGNEW.
Marius Alexander LALCHE'RE, husband of Annie Bell, died at his home,'Brooklyn', Fairfield, Sydney, on the 15th of June 1888. He was onlyforty-one years of age.
Newspaper Death Notice reads;
'Death on the 15 June 1888 at his residence Brooklyn, Fairfield, Sydney.Marius Alexander LALCHE'RE, Lyons, France, son of Benoit LALCHE'RE. Aged41yrs, leaving a wife and large family.'
Annie Bell LALCHE'RE and her young family must have been devastatedat the death of Marius Alexander. Life was not easy for a young widow inthose days, so it was not surprising when Annie Bell remarried in late1889.
Annie Bell LALCHE'RE (hotelkeeper) married John REDPATH (a gardener)at St. Bede's Church of England, Drummoyne, Five Dock, Sydney, on the31st of October 1889.
John REDPATH died in 1931. Below is a transcript of his Will andTestament, and the Probate Papers .

'THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me JOHN REDPATH of Khatabundahnear Wingham in the State of New South Wales Farmer I REVOKE all priorWills. I APPOINT my wife ANNIE BELL REDPATH and my Step-daughter TheodoraMay LALCHERE my Executrices and Trustees - I GIVE DEVISE AND BEQUEATHall my real and personal property of whatsoever nature and wheresoeversituate unto my said wife (should she be living at my death) absolutely -BUT if she should predecease me I GIVE DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all my realand personal property as aforesaid unto my said stepdaughter Theodora MayLALCHERE subject however to the payment by her of One Hundred Pounds toHenry LALCHERE of Khatabundah near Wingham in the state aforesaid FarmerIN WITNESS whereof I hereunto set my hand to this my Will this 13th dayof May in the year One Thousand nine hundred and twenty-six.......................................................................

John and Annie Bell REDPATH farmed 'Khatabundah', Wingham, for manyyears. Theodora and Henry were also working on the farm, with theirmother Annie and step-father John REDPATH.
Annie Bell REDPATH aged 82 years, died at the Carlyle Private Hospital,Wingham, New South Wales, on the 15th of March 1936. She was buried atthe Church of England Cemetery in Wingham on the 15th of March 1936_________________________________________________________________
Members of the LALCHE'RE family used to holiday at the farm at Wingham,New South Wales. According to Chris WILLIAMS' father Charles MorrisonLALCHE'RE, 'All the younger children were in awe of "Grandma Redpath".
