Notes - Article of July 28 1916 - Pte Geo Pettit 6th Northants seriously wounded , shot through head and shoulder, at a hospital in France. He survived at least until 1944 when he is recorded as mourner at his mother's funeral.
In the 1920's George and his wife were charged with child neglect and in 1922 there was an inquest into the death of his two year old daughter but it was determined that she died of natural causes - pneumonia. Dr. Balyney testified at the inquest.
