Commentary
In 1948, John Kelly (Peter Kelly's brother) gave John Gough the address of the Connollys in Dublin. The author of this note is Louise Connolly, nee O'Kelly-Lynch. Her grandmother was Bedelia O'Kelly - named in the text, see (5) - a cousin (most likely) of Amelia, the mother of Sheila Kelly, (John and Peter's mother). Louise's father was John O'Kelly Lynch, author of the "One night in 1798" story.
Bedelia O'Kelly married a Lynch and their children were O'Kelly-Lynch, one of whom married a McAuliffe, and one of the McAuliffes married Thaddeus Moloney, Amelia's father. In 1973 Peter Kelly went to Knocknahila, and spoke to the resident there who told him that "Bernard" went to Australia in the 1920s to visit Countess Freehill, that is, Eileen Molony, younger sister of Amelia, who married Frank Freehill.
as told by Peter Kelly and Patricia Hannon.
