Notes from http://www.findagrave.com/
"Frank married and brought his charming young Welsh bride, Amy Ruck, ... had been school friends of Amy's brothers, and had visited her family at Pantlladw." (qv Edna Healey, 2001)
Amy Richenda Darwin (nee Ruck) is buried in Holy Trinity Church, Corris, Wales; in her letters to him she slips easily into Welsh; Pantlladw was paradise, her home a 'tiny grey house set on a little plateau carved out of a hill side'." (qv Edna Healey, 2001).
According to a letter written by Charles Darwin to his close friend, Joseph Dalton Hooker: " I never saw anyone suffer so much as poor Frank. He has gone to N. Wales to bury the body in a little church-yard amongst the mountains".
Gravestone reads: "Gwywa a gwelltyn syrth y blodewyn ond gair ein Duw ni a saif byth" or "the grass withereth, the flower fadeth but the word of our god shall stand for ever" (from Isaiah).
